Final Cimarron Update

Time for Cimarron to retire

Posted 2006-12-07

The time has come to send you my final Cimarron update so this is a very important one. We had a good year at the prelim/1* level and Cim was wonderful as always taking me around safely my first time out at these demanding levels. The attached 2 photos are from one of our last shows. The 3rd is one of many Cimarron offspring that have made it to the upper levels of competition. A big congratulations to John Clay and his mare Cat Dancing on their successful move up to Prelim as well as Kathy Viele and the Cim son Connery who did the same. Several other Cim kids made their mark in all levels and the first eligible babies were presented to The American Holsteiner Assoc for registry and branding with great results. With now over 100 Cimarron offspring excelling in all disciplines and the Holsteiner breeding permit granted the future looks bright for his legacy and this is important because the time has come for Cimarron to retire from competition and focus on meeting the needs of mare owners and breeders. He has more than proven himself as a champion performer and it’s time for his offspring to shine on his behalf. Cimarron has worked hard and deserves a wonderful life enjoying big pastures and plentiful senoritas! As I came to this conclusion, I realized I could not provide the acreage or breeding services needed on my smaller training facility and that to have the quality of life and opportunities I wanted for him, he would need to move. I couldn’t think of a nicer and more appropriate place for him to stand at stud than where his famous sire Columbus and many other great Holstein stallions such as Le Santo, Manchester, Ladamo and others have stood. The place is like no other and it’s also where Cimarron was bred, born and raised! He will be in the best of hands there with owner Betty who is far better equipped than I am for meeting breeders’ needs. Please contact her with all your future stallion service requests. She is wonderful to deal with and being set up to collect, process and ship semen on site, her rates and services are outstanding. Collections will be a fraction of what my vet charged which is a tremendous benefit to mare owners everywhere. Cimarron’s new owner and home as of January 1, 2007 will be as follows. I am hoping his many fans will get a chance to visit him there as I will at every opportunity. Thank you for all your support to me and Cimarron these last several years that I was most blessed to call him my horse.
