Grew up an active competing member of Martinez Horseman's Assoc. (father was president) and Shadow Hills Junior Ranglers. Competed in all disciplines including Western, English, trail, gymcana, calf penning, rodeo queen, barrel racing, all forms of mounted games.
Visited Europe and the Spanish Riding School as a child and fell in love with dressage.
Supported self through 4 year college program breaking, riding and training racehorses in Portland, OR. Became a licensed exercise, pony rider and groom with the Oregon Racing Commission. Galloped and ponied horses on Oregon racetracks for income while studying horsemanship and taking lessons. Graduated with BA in Business in 1985.
Became a certified camp riding instructor in '83 and worked at summer horse riding camps in WA state as a trainer, instructor and counselor for 2 years.
Working student for FEI dressage rider/trainer Janet Grunbok, Whitethorn Farm '87-'88.
Continuous study of dressage, combined training and natural horsemanship, working with young, green and problem horses successfully from '91 to present.
Successfully competed in rated dressage and eventing to the FEI levels from mid 90's to present.
Ridden and cliniced with numerous Olympians and International caliber riders and trainers including Gina Miles, Hawley Bennett-Awad, Kathleen Raine, Jane Weatherwax, Don Sachey, Brian Sabo, Jimmy Wofford, Chris Scarlett, Jen Hannink, Rene Johnson, Loris Henry.
Backcountry Horseman of CA board member, ride coordinator and special events coordinator from '98-'01. Initiated, planned and organized trail trials competitions to challenge and improve the horsemanship skills of trail riders.
Stood APHA, AWS Pinto sporthorse stallions Eternal Dusty and Yellow Investment from '95-'00. Raised, trained and competed their offspring and others.
Bred European Warmblood sporthorses from 1997 to 2006. Producer of numerous premium foals and inspection champions. Raised, trained and competed offspring successfully.
Became owner of AHHA Holsteiner stallion Cimarron in May '03 and began combine training him for an eventing career while standing him to 10+ outside mares per year.
Evented Cimarron Novice in '04 winning 6 out of 8 recocnized competitions with eventing dressage scores as low as 20 and 22. Won Area VI Novice Championships, Area VI Senior Novice Champion, Area VI Adult Amatuer Champion, USEF Performance Horse Registry Novice Eventing SILVER STIRRUP NATIONAL CHAMPION, AWS EVENTING HORSE OF THE YEAR, AHHA Novice Eventing Horse of the Year. Earned 65% of the points that made Cimarron's deceased sire Columbus the USEF 2004 LEADING SIRE of Eventing horses in America.
EARNED USDF BRONZE MEDAL IN 2005
Evented Cimarron Training in '05 winning 8 out of 13 recognized competitions including the Area VI Training Championships with dressage penalty scores as low as 22. Cimarron named USEA 2005 TRAINING HORSE OF THE YEAR. Debbie named 2005 MASTER TRAINING RIDER OF THE YEAR and USEF/PHR SILVER STIRRUP NATIONAL CHAMPION EVENTING TRAINING. Cimarron also named AHHA, AWS & AWR 2005 EVENTING TRAINING HORSE OF THE YEAR.

At present Debbie trains, consigns and competes horses full time riding up to 10 horses a day, and teaching riders of all disciplines. Debbie sells between 15 and 25 horses a year and has a very solid track record of bringing out the best in horses and successfully matching horse/rider suitability.
